Fall Protection Planning

Improper anchor points are commonly found. The causes come from improper selection, lack of training/knowledge, not following manufacture information/instructions, or securing the anchor point to a structure able to support 5,000 pounds. Employers need to ensure that they plan their work in all phases of construction. Starting from building design and estimating to site specifics. The employer shall select fall protection systems appropriate for given situations(one type of equipment does not work for all scenarios), use proper construction and installation of safety systems, supervise employees properly, use safe work procedures, train workers in the proper selection, use, and maintenance of fall protection systems, and evaluate the effectiveness of all steps. How do you know what you have implemented is working, if you don’t evaluate your process?
